Decades of expeditions have resulted in the new Himalayan from Royal Enfield. Covering thousands of kilometres while travelling across some of the most challenging terrain on the planet have finely honed this unique machine. The engineers and designers have spent years of living and evolving with a machine that responds to the mountains. That’s how the team at Royal Enfield made the Himalayan, their first dual-purpose motorcycle. Keeping the rider in synch with the road is a set of long travel suspension married to a half duplex split cradle frame. This adds strength while saving on weight.
The bike has been designed to offer the rider a versatile machine that can be ridden in comfort whether they are sitting comfortably on the bikes 800mm seat or standing up between the Himalayans perfectly positioned footpegs and its fatigue reducing handlebars. For those of us who like to leave the comfort of well travelled roads there is a navigation assist system called ‘Tripper’ which is connected to the bike via Bluetooth and uses Google Maps to guide the way.
