The Twenty – New Indian
The new Scout Bobber ‘Twenty’ pays rightful homage to the original 1920 Scout. Not many people know this but the machine was developed by a Dubliner by the name of Charles Franklin. Franklin emigrated to the states where he joined the Indian company as an engineer. Rather wonderfully the range of Scout and all the other Indian models can now be bought right here in Dublin in a shop named after the man himself.
Indian have a new range of bikes on the way for the new year. Just one of these machines is the new Scout Bobber Twenty. The bike is a marriage made in motorcycle heaven pairing, as it does, modern technology with that stripped-down, minimalist Bobber look. The bike provides the perfect blend of old-school design married to modern function. The bike looks brilliant with wire wheels, mini-ape handlebars, and a low-profile solo seat that provides both a comfortable ride as well as a classic style. In an outbreak of consideration for the new riders amongst us, the “twenty’ along with all other Scout models continues to be available in A2 compliant specification as well as the full-fat version.
While there is already what the company refers to as ‘a robust line’ of genuine Scout accessories, the good folk at Indian Motorcycles are adding even more for the new year. With a choice of all-new Scout touring parts, riders can turn their city cruiser into a more than capable long-haul touring machine. Pieces such as the Scout Bobber low or mid-height wind deflector protects us riders from the elements. Meanwhile, the option exists to fit heated grips for all Scout models keep our hands warm in cold weather conditions. In addition to these, there is also a new fairing bag and a set of semi-rigid saddlebags which add the most stylish of storage options. Now there is even a colour-matched quick release fairing with a 50mm windshield is available for all Scout models in the new 2021 colour options.
